At the beginning of June, an opinion poll regarding the name of a new street in Browary Warszawskie was launched at the www.twojaulica.pl website. Residents of the capital city started their rivalry in which they could vote for one of three names: Haberbusch and Schiele street, Sfinksów Warszawskich street and Wolskiej Krachli street. We have received 1067 votes in total. The majority of votes i.e. 440 were given for Haberbusch and Schiele street.

Echo Investment announced the opinion poll concerning the name of a new street in Browary Warszawskie, wishing to give Warsaw residents a unique opportunity to influence their surrounding urban space. Echo Investment and the Museum of Warsaw selected three proposals that, drawn from the history of this place. This is the first such opinion poll, as a result of which the capital gained a new street. "Undoubtedly Haberbusch and Schiele, the founders of Browary Warszawskie, deserved that their history was connected with the new street in Warsaw. Beverages produced in Browary Warszawskie were popular not only in our country and the company was considered one of the most innovative and it was a model for many young entrepreneurs. We are glad that residents of the capital so willingly took part in the opinion poll. This proves that the possibility of influencing urban space is very important for Varsovians", comments Rafał Mazurczak, Board Member at Echo Investment. Who are the patrons of the new street? Exactly 172 years ago, Błażej Haberbusch and Konstanty Schiele started the history of Browary Warszawskie, which was famous not only among the residents of the capital, but also in Great Britain, Russia, Germany, the USA, or in the Caucasus and the Far East. For many years brewers produced a unique, regional product which was the pride of Warsaw and a part of its identity. They have given with a job and good earnings to Varsovians. They both have made a real revolution by introducing incl. steam machines for beer production or a flip-top - an innovative type of closure used for bottles. The new street in Browary Warszawskie, which will be named after Haberbusch and Schiele, is about 140 m long. It will start at Browary Warszawskie or Grzybowska Street, and will connect the office and residential part of the new quarter. At the residential part, it will reach Krochmalna Street. The street will be made available to residents of the city while the opening of the first office building, i.e. so-called Offices at the Gate.
